Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur

Triple Sec / Sexy AF NA / 0.0%

Sexy AF Triple Sexy is a non-alcoholic Triple Sec alternative designed for making mocktails or non-alcoholic drinks. Use it in place of the popular orange-flavored liqueur when you want a non-alcoholic Cosmopolitan

There is a certain subset of the population who truly believes that no matter what you do to beer or wine, it simply does not taste good. I am not one of these people, mind you. Far from it. But they do exist. That doesn’t mean they don’t imbibe from time to time, but it is solely for the feeling that they get from the alcohol within rather than the flavors of the beverages themselves. To these people, non-alcoholic beer and wine probably don’t make a ton of sense. But when it comes to cocktails, everybody knows that taste is the number one priority, and they can be enjoyed just as easily with no booze whatsoever. For this reason, non-alcoholic spirits actually make quite a bit of sense.

Enter the brand Sexy AF. Despite their company name being a bit of a turn off, at least to me personally, they are intriguingly crafting an array of these boozeless spirits, including version of rum, whiskey, and various liqueurs. Triple sec may not be the first NA spirit that you would choose to experiment with, but it’s a crucial ingredient in many classic cocktails. So in order to maintain quality while removing alcohol, it could be critical to have this option available. But you don’t have to figure that out yourself. I’ll let you know if it’s worth purchasing through this Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur review.

Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur Review

Each spirit that Sexy AF makes comes in a tall rectangular bottle, but they are distinguished by different colored caps. Triple Sexy fittingly is topped with an orange cap. They all have simple black labels with no other real information present. There is a clear aesthetic choice here. What I don’t fully understand is why all of the spirits, from rum to gin, are deep orange or red in color. The shades vary but are mostly similar. At least it makes sense for the mock triple sec that I am be sampling.

Sexy AF is clearly attempting to make products that appeal to those who are focused on improving or maintaining their health. In addition to containing just 30 calories per ounce, Triple Sexy is vegan, gluten free, sugar free, and allergen free. There would be no sense in removing alcohol from your consumption habits but retaining other things like sugar that can be just as hazardous to your health, so this is all a good sign.

Another good sign is that the aroma is very reminiscent of a traditional triple sec, cointreau, or any other orange-tinted liqueur. It smells like a very clean distilled spirit with a fair amount of orange backbone – enough to let you know that something is there but not too much that it will overpower any mix that it is added to.

All of this makes me optimistic to commence the tasting experience. That, after all, is the only way to find a real answer to the question, “Is Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur good?”

Is Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur Good?

The bonus of a non-alcoholic spirit, in comparison to things like NA beer or wine, is I can mix it with different elements to see how it plays and if there is some secret to bringing out its full potential. Of course, triple sec isn’t traditionally consumed neat, but that is how I first sampled this spirit just to get a sense of what was going on.

The first thing that I notice is that the taste follows the nose relatively well but with some stronger flavor to it than I was led to believe. The orange is still pleasant and by no means overpowering, but it does give some hints of orange soda. It stops short of giving off a syrupy sweetness though, which is important. There is even a tiny bite in the back of the throat, helping you forget that it is lacking alcohol.

Next, I tried mixing Triple Sexy with lime juice and a non-alcoholic agave spirit that I have on-hand in order to mimic a margarita. I have to say that it worked out quite well. I won’t divulge the name of the agave spirit, but I hadn’t been very impressed with it so far, but the addition of lime and this liqueur resulted in something very tasty. It has just enough sweetness to balance out the sour lime.

The third way that I tried this spirit was in combination with and equal part of watermelon juice and a hint of lime. This is a suggestion from the packaging. Because the watermelon is a little tamer and the ratio is 1:1, the orange in the liqueur takes a step forward but remains delightful, and this drink is incredibly refreshing.

There isn’t a ton else to say about triple sec. It has a clean finish. Makes each of these cocktails better. It’s a great supporting element. What exactly will that mean for my final Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur rating? Finish reading and find out.

Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur Rating

The two most crucial areas of evaluation when it comes to forming my final grade are basic taste and if the spirit fulfills what it is promising. Triple Sexy scores quite well in both categories. Even though triple sec usually isn’t all that tasty on its own, this version truly tastes fine neat, even though I’m sure most won’t ever drink it that way. Despite that difference from traditional triple sec, this spirit still doesn’t do TOO much. The orange is a bit stronger than expected but still very clean and plays well as a secondary character in any mocktail that I mixed up.

I guess all of this goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. With a brand name like Sexy AF, this company struck me as something that was focused on trying to stay cool and appeal to the younger generation. I wrongly assumed the product might not be up to snuff. Turns out it is one of the better NA spirits that I have ever had the pleasure of sampling. I feel I must wrap up this Sexy AF Triple Sexy Liqueur review by giving it a full 5 out 5 stars. A tasty beverage that delivers exactly what you expect of it.
